Thinking of booking a Brazilian wax? Men and women are very particular about where to go for such an intimate and delicate service, but at Smooth Body Wax Center you can trust that our trained, experienced waxologists and our high quality wax will have you loving both your experience and your results. Here’s some insight on what you should do to prepare yourself before your appointment.
Tip #1. Leave it to the professionals.
Have you thought about waxing at home yourself? The thought of doing your wax at home might sound appealing, but the truth is you may be left with stray hairs, bruising, patchy spots, broken hair, and possibly ingrown hairs as it grows back. At Smooth Body Wax Center, hair removal is what we specialize in. We promise to leave you feeling smooth and your skin glowing after your service.
Put the razor down and let your hair grow for about 2-3 weeks before coming in. This will allow your hair to be the optimal length for waxing.
Tip #2. Remember to exfoliate.
24 hours before your visit to Smooth Body Wax Center, be sure to shower with an exfoliant like our Nude Body Scrub, and gently exfoliate away the dead skin cells and help to loosen your hairs. When you exfoliate before your visit, it makes it easier for your waxologist to remove the hair from the follicle and bring about smoother results.
Tip #3. Make moisturizing part of your daily grooming routine.
Hydration is so important to having healthy skin and a comfortable waxing experience. By applying a moisturizer as soon as you’re out of the shower, you will be helping to keep your skin plump, hydrated and protected from the environment.
Having hydrated skin helps the wax to adhere only to the hairs and pull them from the root. This can also help to keep a balanced skin tone and prevent hyperpigmentation post wax. Our Nude Ingrown Oil is a great option to keep the skin hydrated after your wax.
Tip #4. Let your hair grow.
The ideal length of hair waxing at least a quarter-inch. You want to make sure that your hair "down there" is long enough for you to pinch with your fingertips. If your hair is too short the wax has nothing to adhere to, and therefore will not be able to grip the hair well enough to effectively remove it. So no need to trim before your appointment.
Tip #5. Don’t wait to book again.
As much as you may love your smooth skin now, hair grows back in a regular cycle. Depending on which body area you are waxing, we may recommend that you book your follow-up appointment between 2-6 weeks before you leave. The more consistent your sessions are, the longer your results will last due to your hairs gradually getting on the same growth .
Tip #6. After care is a must.
We are certain you will absolutely love your results. However, after your wax there is still work to do at home. Waxing is a form of skincare. Remember some of the tips we have discussed so far: it's important to exfoliate at least twice per week and moisturize daily. Be sure to use a pH balanced cleanser that will help keep your skin’s microbiome healthy that won’t be too drying. Also, drink plenty of water. Following these steps will keep your confidence high and your waxed areas clean and smooth.
